Projects undertaken abroad
We have experience in Africa. These experiences started a few years ago giving support some NGOs that worked in the ECOWAS region (French speaker countries from West Africa as Guinee Bissau or Senegal). With that accumulated experience we have noticed several problems and why do not last the different initiatives of rural electrification along the time so that we believe we can provide comprehensive solutions to the problems of rural electrification through renewable and waste management. We also have noticed that PV technology operational costs are cheaper than diesel costs:
- PV: 0,19 €/kwh.
- DIESEL: 0,25 €/kwh.
So nowadays PV technology is competitive even without subsidies, and that’s why Africa is our internationalization target today.
- Diesel-Wind Generation Group for agricultural pumping for a farming community in Senegal with the Association Macodou S. Sociocultural Sall (ASOCMACS). 2008.
- Design and Implementation of Hybrid Power installation for a Health Center with Solar PV and Diesel in Senegal with the Association Macodou S. Sociocultural Sal, ASOCMACS. 2009.
- Design and construction of a Hybrid Group (diesel and photovoltaic) connected to the grid for a hospital in Ghana with the University Complutense of Madrid. 2009.
- Training and electrification project in Senegal with Photovoltaics "Socio-Cultural Association S. Macodou Sal", ASOCMACS. 2010.
- Design and Implementation of a PV-Diesel Hybrid Installation and Electrification of the computer room, library and other facilities in Guinea Bissau with the NGO "Solidarity with Guinea Bissau", Soguiba.
- Study in progress for solar cold in the fishermen's association of Sao Domingo in Guinea Bissau with the NGO "Solidarity with Guinea Bissau", Soguiba. Today.
- Energy Audit in the ECOWAS headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. Today.
Currently we are developing a new project in the Senegalese city of Touba, to set up 1 to 2 MW with photovoltaic and the support of 0.5MW of Biogas, in a factory of peanut oil, which would be one of the biggest one in West Africa.
Therefore, to change the energy model, from Solaria we bet on renewable sources and on a shift in the sources of production:
- Bringing the generation sources of energy to consumption sites (distributed energy networks)
- Optimizing natural resources in different regions (e.g. building waste for biogas)
- Using all the tools now exist to manage electricity demand. (Smart grids).
